With world markets in turmoil, the fashion industry has looked to the future and seen a host of new challenges. Most designers sense change in the air at the 2009 spring/summer shows .

This is not the best of times for the fashion industry to say that we cannot get through next summer without a variety of spangly cocktail dresses, crocodile handbag or wildly impractical stilettoes. When the Dow Jones is crashing like a model in 9-inch heels, fashion isn't a priority for most people. The Milan shows kicked off in the middle of the global financial meltdown and the conversation among buyers was not focused on hemlines, but whether their banks would extend them enough credit for next season's stock. ...

LOREAL IS PROPOSING JOB CUTS IN FINANCIAL DOWN TURN


Loreal cosmetics are putting foreward proposals to cut up to 200 jobs at their plant in South wales united kingdom. the plant produces shampoos,conditioners,hair products. they are proposing transfering the work to France. They say a decline in the uk supplier base is to blame. this has meant that up to seventy percent of thier ingrediants are imported, the factory employes about 260 staff at this time.

This 2009 spring season is it possible pirates could be the"in thing" on the catwalk and in the high street!


What with the credit crunch and everyone suffering financially[tongue in cheek humour] could we have the sight of pirate hoards of high st. fashion shoppers pillaging the plethora of high street brand names and famous designs.Looking to lay seige to bargains found at any corner or quarter "me hearties".


Consumers conversing in par-lay with accessory vendors,aiming their cannons at bargains.

GIVENCHY ICON OF 20THCENTURY FASHION





Givenchy is a famous French fashion house specializing in womens and mens clothing lines ,houte couture and ready to wear are included in their vast range also accessories, cosmetics and perfumes. Givenghy was started in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy. John Galliano took over as chief designer, but soon his replacement arrived Alexander McQueen. Givenchy also had changes in designers in 2000 when designer Julien McDonald took over on the women's lines as artistic director, their was also a change for the mens range of fashion with Ozwald Boateng being selected designer for the men's range.In the history of the 20th century Givenchy clothings most popular patron was Audrey Hepburn. She used Givenchy clothes and accessories in many of her movies Breakfast at Tiffany's for example. Other popular clients were the Kennedy family, They wore Givenchy clothes during President John F. Kennedys funeral. Givenchy is owned by LVMH a major luxury goods and clothing company. The company sales amount to around $180 million per annum, A fashion icon of the 20th century.

In western eyes could be conceived as having very similar traights i.e same colour hair, same waif like slim build,height,eye colour.where as over here in europe and the u.s. there is a far larger variety of models to wear top designers attire.
